An Adaptive Multi Sensor Data Fusion with Hybrid Nonlinear ARX and Wiener-Hammerstein Models for Skeletal Muscle Force Estimation

چکیده
Skeletal muscle force can be estimated using surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals. Usually, the sEMG location for the sensors is near the respective muscle motor unit points. Skeletal muscles generate a temporal and spatial distributed EMG signal, which causes cross talk between different sEMG signal sensors. In this paper, an array of three sEMG sensors is used to capture the information of muscle dynamics in terms of sEMG signals and generated muscle force. The recorded sEMG signals are filtered utilizing optimized nonlinear Half-Gaussian Bayesian filter, and a Chebyshev type-II filter prepares the muscle force signal. The filter optimization is accomplished using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Multi nonlinear Auto Regressive eXogenous (ARX) and Wiener-Hammerstein models with different nonlinearity estimators/classes are obtained using system identification (SI) for three sets of sensor data. The outputs of these models are fused with a probabilistic Kullback Information Criterion (KIC) for model selection and an adaptive probability of KIC. First, the outputs are fused for the same sensor and for different models and then the final outputs from each sensor. The final fusion based output of three sensors provides good skeletal muscle force estimates. Key-Words: sEMG, ARX, Weiner-Hammerstein, KIC, SI, GA

متن کاملModel-based Approach for Multi-sensor Fault Identification in Power Plant Gas Turbines
In this paper, the multi-sensor fault diagnosis in the exhaust temperature sensors of a V94.2 heavy duty gas turbine is presented. A Laguerre network-based fuzzy modeling approach is presented to predict the output temperature of the gas turbine for sensor fault diagnosis. Due to the nonlinear dynamics of the gas turbine, in these models the Laguerre filter parts are related to the linear d...
متن کاملAn Iterative Method for Wiener–hammerstein Systems Parameter Identification
The class of nonlinear dynamic systems which can be represented by the block-oriented models, ie, by interconnection of linear dynamic and nonlinear static subsystems, has been studied by many authors. In the simplest case the models consist of a combination of two blocks giving the so-called Hammerstein (nonlinear-linear) and Wiener (linear-nonlinear) models and there are many methods for nonl...
متن کاملDevelopment of Nonlinear Black Box Models using Orthonormal Basis Filters: A Review*
Over the last two decades, there has been a growing interest in the use of orthonormal basis filters (OBF) for developing dynamic black box models. When compared with the conventional approach, a substantial dimensionality reduction can be achieved through OBF parameterization. Moreover, the orthonormal filters, because of their similarity to the Padé approximation, can model systems that exhib...
